COLLECTION OF SHARPS BOXES
If you have a sharps box at home that needs collecting you can contact the council and they will arrange free collection of this for you. Otherwise you can drop it in to any independent chemist. Please note that Lloyds and Boots pharmacies will not take these off you and they cannot be dropped into surgery.
For those people who are worried about thin bones (osteoporosis) they can access a screening tool via the National Osteoporosis Society
www.nos.org.uk and work out their risk score.
If it is raised they can then see the doctor to arrange a bone density scan.
YOUR ACCOUNTABLE GP
Patients have been allocated an accountable GP, patients can obtain the name of their accountable GP by contacting the practice or by asking at your next appointments with either the doctor or the nurse. This does not affect your choice of GP in the practice when attending appointments.
Due to increased pressure within the NHS over the winter months, the Doctors are now providing extra appointments every day and on some Saturday mornings. Please speak to Reception for any further information. Service ends at the end of February.
** You may have heard in the news about an "IT glitch" which may cause patients to have been wrongly given or denied cholesterol lowering medication (Statins).
The doctors would like to reassure patients that this is linked to a different computer system to that which we use at The Grange Medical Centre.
Thus we do not need to reassess statin use other than at your regular review.
Following the recent consultation in which NHS Warwickshire North CCG agreed to relocate the walk-in service from camp hill to the George Eliot Hospital site,as part of a fully intergrated urgent care service working closely with A&E, NHS 111 and the GP Out of hours service on this site.
The CCG can confirm that this change will take effect from 1st June 2016
As we approach the transfer date we will of course try to provide regular updates.
Registered patients at the camp hill practice will still be able to receive their primary care service at that site.
